Prince’s Trust Canada Wraps Up Business Bootcamp for Veterans in Regina, Saskatchewan

REGINA, July 31, 2023 – Prince’s Trust Canada is pleased to have completed its business bootcamp for Veterans interested in becoming Entrepreneurs.

The 2023 Boot Camp series, in its 11th year,    partnered with top Canadian universities, including Université Laval, Dalhousie University, and most recently, the University of Regina, to deliver presentations and workshops on best practices to build and grow a business, help Veterans build a new network outside of their military community, and take their business ideas and plans to the next level.

The 16 Veterans who participated in the Regina Boot Camp were either in the process of transitioning or had recently transitioned from their military career with the Canadian Armed Forces and were seeking entrepreneurship as a second career. Their business ideas spanned from a bed and breakfast, to custom wood working to an e-sports venue.

“I find working with our veterans very rewarding,” said Nola Joorisity, Lecturer at the University of Regina, “They are eager, they have lots of questions and they really want to learn. Their excitement motivates me to continue to be involved in the program.”

“Nearly one-third of the Veterans who left the Canadian Armed Forces in the 2021 Census were in the core working age group of 25 to 54,” said Farah Mohamed, CEO of Prince’s Trust Canada. “Our Veteran programming helps connect those who dedicated their life to service with everything they need to move forward with a new purpose.”

Prince’s Trust Canada’s next phase of Veteran programming launches in Fall 2023 with a series of virtual and in-person Workshops run by experts on business fundamentals.
