Prince’s Trust Canada’s Youth Futures Fund

May 4, 2020

We’ll always be here for young people.

Since its inception, Prince’s Trust Canada has helped young people facing social and economic barriers through its youth employment programs. In collaboration with employers from sectors with identified skills shortages and community-based organizations who provide training from qualified professionals, we support young people as they build skills, improve their communication, and boost their confidence, ultimately leading them into sustained employment.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has had a significant impact on the lives of young people. While we are all faced with the unknown, we know that it is important to turn our collective attention to economic recovery. We will continue to help young people during this crisis, and, with your help, we will be there to continue helping them gain the skills and confidence needed for employment once we make it through these unprecedented times.

Prince’s Trust Canada is committed to supporting young people, in collaboration with our community partners, in the following ways:

  • Digital program delivery & virtual accessibility: Since we cannot reach young people in person, we will be pivoting our programs to reach those most at need virtually, so they can stay connected and continue their journey towards employment. We will provide access to tools, virtual networking and mentoring opportunities and employment training modules, supported by the expertise of our employer and business partners and Canada-wide community collaborators.
  • Preparing for the future job market: The world of work is changing. We know green jobs, including the trades for building retrofits and sustainable forestry are more important now than ever for the climate and the future of young people. Looking forward, new employment opportunities, shifting industries and markets rooted in sustainability are within our grasp, with the potential for a just and resilient economy.

Young people need our help.

Challenging economic times have historically shown incredible generosity. Please consider donating in support of young people at this time, and we will ensure your gift is directed to their area of greatest need as they prepare for the future.

Thank you for your support.
